1. The Blue Screen of Death
2. The Death Spin aka the sound of a dying Hard Drive.

Dammit. I'd rather see/hear a ghost than encounter these again...Yeah I'm having computer problems. The good thing is I know how to fix them. Every thing is fine now but I'm afraid something bad will happen again. I hope my troubleshooting is correct. I don't want to lose data.

BTW if you get the 60K Kiriban you get a free request. Read here: grandchaossr.deviantart.com/jo…

You really want to have a heart attack, Think of hearing  the Death Spin on your 360 or PS3.  All those hours of gaming, and you haven't backed-up saves in a about a week....

I remember when my PS1 memory card corrupted. It felt like someone poured a bucket of cold water on me.

Well I think some games today are required to save files in online servers so at least you can always feel secure that your file won't be corrupted or lost. But the downside is always on-line policies and the possibility of the servers getting hacked.

I've got a rather sizable crack in my laptop monitor. Dead pixels in the upper left corner, but the extent varies from day-to-day.

I guess I fear that one day the monitor will break altogether and right now I don't have the money to replace it, not to mention the files I'd lose...

There are several options if your laptop's monitor is broken. You can connect your monitor to your TV if it has HDMI port. That what my brother does if he wants to watch anime in a bigger screen. Or you can buy a cheap LCD monitor and connect it to your laptop.

Definitely options. Still, I'm long overdue for a new laptop. The damn thing has no memory, Adobe software always crashes and I can't even play Megaman X Street Fighter on it.

MOnitor isn't anything to worry about when talking lose of files. Get a simliar Laptop, and swap hard drives.

True. But I've never felt especially confident when gutting hardware. I'd just as soon move all essential files to my WD external drive before the screen dies.

Always a good way to do it, too.

The Click of Death on a WD external is pretty scary too.

I have an old WD external and it does that clicking sound but the weird thing is it still works.
